Hi, this is Carol Whitton, Principal of Lime Street Elementary School. I have a very important message for you regarding bus transportation for your children.
This year, for the very first time, we are requiring the use of bus passes for all of our elementary students. We are also enforcing the Board-approved walking distances for our elementary children, which means that many bus stops that have been used in previous years will no longer be in service.
For more specific information, please check the Daily Press, the Hesperia Unified School District website (www.hesperiausd.org), or call Lime Street Elementary at 760-244-0512 to find out if your child is eligible for bus transportation and, if so, to obtain information about your correct bus stop.
School staff will distribute temporary bus passes to all eligible children on their first day of school. Permanent passes will be issued before the end of August.
The safety of our students is important to us. For that reason, during the first week of school, our bus drivers will be checking all of our bus stops - even those that are being eliminated - to ensure that children who accidentally try to catch a bus at a discontinued stop will still arrive safely at school.
We are looking forward to seeing your children on August 8th, our very first day of school for the 2011-2012 school year!
